Diversity and Inclusion Statement
Nirvanas Arts Collective has been built on the foundational belief that every person deserves equitable access to support, and the opportunity to be involved in arts services and industry. The arts are a powerful tool for social and political change to make the lives of disabled artists richer and achieve creative fulfilment by removing the barriers to accessing artistic spaces. Nirvanas Arts Collective is but a small part in a wider socio-political movement to improve access to many spaces that non-disabled individuals often have the unknown privilege of accessing.
Whilst we strive to support disabled artists in any way we can, we will not ignore the importance of intersectionality of different identities and experiences, and how this contributes to creative expression. We acknowledge the ways these identities can come up against social barriers within creative spaces that can create further marginalisation. We strive to be an anti-oppressive organisation who holds ourselves accountable to ensure the integrity of the organisation's morals and beliefs, and show this through all aspects of our mission; we do not tolerate discrimination or hate-speech within our organisation.

Throughout our work, we promote the understanding and respect of everyone regardless of their gender, religion, disability or culture, and celebrate our multi-cultural society. We want to break social barriers for all minorities to ensure everyone has equal access to wellbeing services and arts opportunities. We feel that everyone's fullest potential is only reached when they live as their most authentic self and
and we are committed to co-create a space with our members where all identities can be accepted and celebrated.
